So I bought a drumset today

A bunch of my friends have been fucking around trying to make shit, but no one has drums. I've always wanted to play so I said fuck it to all of my leisure money for the rest of the quarter and bought one that the guy at Sam Ash Music (better service than fucking Guitar Center) recommended.
I'm pretty excited.

Oh, and I also got a practice pad, of course. Gotta learn those paradiddlediddles.

It's a Tama.
I've never heard of them before, but the dude said it was the best bet for a begginer set they had beside the $250 fall apart in one month set, plus it came with a decent and free warranty (and a 12" China cymbal.)

No I don't have a double bass pedal because I don't like metal nearly enough. Not to mention it cost like $800 so I'd really rather not spend any more on it for useless shit right now.

And Vortex: Don't worry, I promise I'll have some beer for you at NE09.

Now that I've read the full thread...

Tyrannicalrex has my set. Same color too, midnight blue.

The first thing I'll upgrade will probably be the snare and ride. I like a nice snappy snare, so I want something thinner. I also want a bigger ride. I've always been impartial to the Zildjian the dude in my high school jazz band played so I'll grab one of those and a good jazz snare if I stick with this.

For now everything I have is good enough though.
