I'm not even really sure.. I'm thinking it was probably the original bathory album. I never was real big on buying records/tapes/cds.. I probably bought a lot of cassette tapes when they were popular. Usually I'd find some kind of non-legit way of getting music. Anything from dubbing on cassette to just downloading them these days.

fuck yea that was like the third cd I ever bought. I listened to that album so much, and I can still enjoy it to this day.
First CD I ever bought was Green Day - Dookie. Also a great album.
Used to be big into punk in gradeschool/highschool. I remeber starting to listen to it a year or two before it started to get really trendy - and I'd be teased for wearing Nofx shirts/etc, then a year or two pass by, Greenday explodes, then all the kids who used to make fun of me for liking punk were sporting greenday shirts and neon hair, made me laugh.
My fave bands though would probably be : AFI (older stuff, like black sails in the sunset), Refused (The Shape of Punk to Come is an amazing album), and The Misfits when Danzig was still a member.
Started off with the mainstream stuff (Pennywise/greenday/blink/face2face/etc), then slowly started to get into alot more indi/underground bands for awhile, helped with local concerts/etc.
Mind you, my musical taste is soooooooooooooooooooo far away from that stuff now, dont think I've listented to a punk CD in ages.

Humble Pie- Rocking the Fillmore (something like that) and Pearl Jam- Ten. Picked them both out on my 12th birthday, the Humble Pie one my dad recommended. It's actually a really good record, one of the best live shows I've ever heard. "Walk on Gilded Splinters" is amazing. They're not remembered very much today, but that record is a gem.

First CD I bought knowing what I was doing ( ) was "Emergency on planet Earth" by Jamiroquai. Its the only one Ive bought twice too, great album
I must say tho that the cd that got me into music was "Are you gonna go my way" by Lenny Kravitz. Sooo cool for a 14 years old boy.

The first recorded music I purchased was my initial membership package from the Columbia Record and Tape Club in 1985. Among my selections were Madonna's "Like a Virgin" & Michael Jackson's "Thriller."
