I will be traveling throughout New Zealand until November 22nd and would like to know what active species of mushies I can find during this time of the year.

Say zee, i know the difference between australia and new zealand, having been to both. Never hunted either cuz i was like 12 but i'm just sayin.

Ah yes...no worries. I was just a little jumpy as when I visited Canada & USA recently I got asked by quite a few people "so, what part of Australia are you from?" (most based on accent, but some people who knew i was from NZ still referred to it as part of australia). Not really a big deal in either case. Happy huntin!

I dont know when the cope season is but I'd imagine it would be in the spring/summer time? Apparently they are only near the airport in New Plymouth, and that isnt a location leak as its published in MJ's article. I havent heard anything on copes from NZ here on the shroomery.

But yeah its pretty much dead for all mushrooms - but I have seen a few species of inkies around. Up in the south island bush though I think there would still be millions of mushrooms, but no actives.
