465cfm blower for 12x24x5.78 HEPA Filter

Would  THIS BLOWER  be sufficient for a 12x24x5.78 HEPA filter that I THINK is rated at .8 inches of static pressure?  I have done a lot of bigger filters/hoods but I am still a little shaky with this little guy.  Thanks!

Yes. If it doesn't say, assume the 465 cfm is at zero static pressure. However, it should be plenty for that size filter.

Thanks RR. I can build great boxes for the them, still working my flowhood math though. Found this:

Divide CFM of blower at .8" static pressure by square footage of filter. Ideal result between 150-400.

You want 100 to 150 lineal feet per minute leaving your filter. This will cause the flame of a bic lighter to bend over between 45 and 90 degrees, but not blow out. If your speed is too high, you can always block off part of the intake, or get a motor speed controller to slow down the motor.

Of course. If you can 'feel' the air, it's too much. You don't want any wind at all. The output of a flowhood should be little more than a whisper to give a sterile work area with no drafts or turbulence.

Never use a dimmer to control an inductive load. Use a motor speed controller. http://www.littlegreenhouse.com/accessory/controls2.shtml
