GYM!
    #6207263 -

it looks like its related to Gymnopilus aeruginosa so im thinking its some type of gym correct me if im wrong. i was out buying a PC its 5 quarts and how do you know the psi btw, and found these.
spore print is being done. and the amanita is for view pleasure! its yellow btw kinda looks panthrinaish but is not

BTw there was a dead squrile across the street from that amanita

Gills: same color as cap kinda diffintly rusty brown orange spore deposits and i believe adnexed

Stem: very hearty hard to rip of cap and not hollow

Cap: orange-yellow rusty starting ro go toward brown orange

Spore print: uncomfirmed yet

Bruising: No noticeable color changes from bruising but dried ones seem bluish

Location: Nj under hardwood tree growing from the base of it

smell : it reminds me of cubes but more bitter

1#

2# as you can see my indoor photos may lack but the out doors ones in nature shots make up for it

Based on your description and photos they look like Gymnopilus to me. I'll bet Coon will set you straight with the ID. I hope they are for your sake 'cause that is a nice batch you got there!

we know that. the question at hand is whether they're active gyms. based on what looks in the pics like blue/green tones i'd say probably, and based on the reddish purple tones and depressed fibrils on the caps i'd say G. aeruginosa is indeed a good bet if my memory serves correctly.

lol i know that i think anyone that knows that theres a such thing as genus or speicies can tell that.
If there are no poison gyms im up for a bio eassy it has a psilo smell like azures, cubes, coplaindia cyans, and truffle ones that i have eaten so i trust it.

heh, yeah i forgot about the amanitas. i think A. pantherina sounds reasonable based on the cap color and volval structure but i still wouldn't recommend eating them. any time i've picked pantherina i've been incredibly paranoid about eating it.

the dried ones smell more like psilocybin then the fresh ones. the first 9 were connected by the way. and the amanita has orange in the center which is really faded and the rest is really faded yellow
its same colour as this bad boy
http://www.shroomery.org/forums/files/06-37/845484343-PICT0415.jpg that thing was so diesel
i took that amanita pic to confuse poeple lol you cant see the detail that i can see with my eyes bite marks on em look like incisors of a squrile forsure and really there was a dead squrile across the street road kill i think it got confused and was hit

Omphalotus olearius is clearly not the case that can be seen in how the cap meets the stem, and in the stem and cap.also those smell different and they color pigment bleeds when wet these dont.  Gymnopilus aeruginosa doesnt seem right due to color they have very if not almost indistinguishable bodies tho. so i would say just another species maybe its a new one ^.^ and i can name it gym jersius lol and its active. but i dont think thats the case it think its an already named one and from the smell active but thats not a good guideline. if it helps i can say that its a absorbion heterotroph its host was alive still.

i cant get a good pic of the print cause the print is shitty and even was an overnight print it is oragne brown. the print shows only around the cap its not a full up print like i would get from an amanita. its not as far to say rust colored but its brown-orange or orange. thats for white paper
on brown paper it left almost rust color but orangish
