locating semilanceata?

what times of year would one have the best shot at finding some liberty caps in the western ny area. I'm completely new to hunting, and am not finding much info. on hunting in ny....... presumably cause there ain't much here?

Before the freeze in pastures. Not all pastures so one has to go through many pastures before they find them. IT took me over a year and ahalf to find some and hundreds of miles and hundreds of pastures.

Theya re common in upper state new york, as far north as Newfoundland, Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia.

Maybe some of the northeastern states.

thanks! so... since semilanceata is a "cool" weather species, would hunting in upper state ny be best in fall and spring as opposed to summer?
