I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that you didn't handle this well. So she's uneducated about drugs, and she made a wisecrack about your boyfriend, big deal. You overreacted and ran out, so now not only does she think your boyfriend is fucked out of his mind on those devil-shrooms, but you're a psycho as well.

You could have handled it calmly. You could have kept playing your game, and asked her specifically what shrooms do that is bad. Then she would have either spewed some lame myth, or realized she didn't know anything and shut up. Either way, that would be your chance to set her straight. If you want to educate people about drugs and normalize them in society, you're going to have to talk about them in a calm and reasonable way.

I understand wanting some ass, but to diss your friends is unacceptable, especially to slam the door in her face. He could have kept his mouth shut and left it between them, but to act like is not something a friend would do.

Most people like this girl are closed-minded and no matter what you tell them they will just believe what they want to believe and tell you that youre a dumbass for even thinking as you do. She did the right thing by just leaving and sparing herself more insults.

I am having to learn that when these things come up, unless someone insults you through it (too fucked up on shrooms etc), you just have to swallow the righteous fury and ignore it.

We had this a few nights ago.

Three of us here, one of my housemates of the two that arent me is incredibly straight laced, to the point where he seems to believe everything he has ever been told (by parents, the law etc)

So we are talking about an upcoming party, knocking some ideas around and someone mentions acid. Im standing to the right of the chair he is sitting in and you can see he is getting edgy. It is my theory that he is terrified of the prospect of any drug, besides the big legal two. This of course makes it more frustrating because you want to enlighten them a little...

Here are the most infuriating gems from the row about 'drugs in the house'

He: (Said in a blase fashion): Cannabis to me is just like heroin
Me: %£$£$%%^ $$%^%*£E£"(()@!!!!!
He: They are all drugs
Me: So is alcohol etc etc etc
He: For a good time back where i am from we like to get drunk and have a bit of a fight (trying to look a little bit badboy), gallingly, moronically) ...wake up with a fat lip etc (maintaining blase tone)
Me: continues: R%$^^U&I "!!!"$$^*^ %£$^!!


The final icing on the cake, after i had basically called him a moronic cunt

'If there are drugs (meaning hallucinagens) in the house i'll call the police...'

I stand in awe of this complete prick. Disbelief. But this is what happens when you try to talk about it. People dont want enlightenment. They want to tread their path and get a job and have kids and stay legal etc etc etc. Which is fair enough, but not for me. I need to stop expending my energy on trying...

All the more anger making because i feel i can see the reasoning behind it - fear of police etc, fear of people on drugs, fear, unfounded really.

So i go 'youd call the police on your friends??? thats fucked up' feeling all the while i hardly consider him a friend. I got so angry because i had this fucking square threatening the man on me for what i do in my own house. Its fucked up, im just gonna learn to let it go. i'll probably film him next time he is puking on the carpet, having me care for him and then denying it in the morning. Gets me furious, the whole bullshit.

But thats what happens. This is my promise now, it comes up ever again, i dont argue the drugs. Only the rudeness, if necessary. No more the drugs, its so divisive and makes me feel feelings i dont want to feel.

Such a douche.

But there we go, if i want to smoke ganj in my own house id best look out for those flashing blue lights when i do.

Some people, you just wonder what it might do for them to open their mind, maybe it wouldnt, but end story, fuck it its their life and i dont want to get involved. Any more than i have to or am already. That is my lesson i guess.
