They don't look like Psilocybe to me.

I can't seem to narrow it down to a single genus based on the info you provided. Can you do a spore print on it? The pics are pretty blurry...

Don't consume them.

It strikes me as looking like a Stropharia, remembering of course that the pictures and description dont allow a proper ID.

They look pretty chunky, look like they could go big and there seems a little hint of purple in their caps. Wine Cap perhaps???

Thelostson there is a possibility that these might be edible BUT without a proper writeup, no spore print and poor quality photos its really anyones guess. Try to get some decent pictures and hopefully they turn out to be Stropharia rugoso-anulata(a gourmet mushroom)!

So just repeating DONT eat them!

hello well i took a spore print

the color of the print was black almost identical to ink from a black pen with a very subtle hint of a dark almost black purple shade

they are starting to fall apart and the stems are turning a sandy brown tint almost like wood on a 2x4

and the caps are starting to shade to a brownish amber color it still smells like a regular mushroom

the gills are turning dark grey purple in color

its also starting to fall apart a bit wat should i do?

Hmmm thats intersting, the spore print makes it look like they are indeed Stropharia rugoso-annulata, HOWEVER I would wait on opinions from others, are you able to get better pictures? Is there a ring around the stem?

What does everyone else think? It looks like wine cap to me but is there enough proof to go on to suggest eating them? Also how do you guys normally cook these up?

So just repeating while I think you're onto a winner don't eat them until others give their opinions.

haha. those remind me of some puffballs or something. I'd rather date Janet Reno than eat those.

Yeah, I think Stropharia rugosoannulata. The key distinguishing feature of this species is a fragile annulus that looks like upturned teeth. I can't see it in the photos, but otherwise the mushrooms look like them, and purple-black spores are consistent with Stropharia rugosoannulata
