Grapefruit / Vitamin C
    #6188294 -

I've seen a couple reverences to people taking vitamin C or eating grapefruit before going on a journey, but I have never heard why this is.

What reason if any would one eat grapefruit before tripping?

IMO drinking OJ reminds me of my childhood... the taste is soo distinct. so when i trip, a nice glass of oj reminds me of life and how something as simple as a glass of orange juice can be so delightful.

Grapefruit is acidic. It helps you to absorb the mushrooms a bit quicker. Same as lime, or lemon juice. It sure as hell is not some sort of an maoi. lol

V-c contrary to populare belief does not make you trip harder.

It relaxes you as you body processes the VC.
That is the main effect. It basicvally sooths the body and mind and may for some, lead to a more relaxed trip.
The suger in orange juice on the other hand might over power the effects of VC and actually make you more edgy during a trip.

VC definately has its effects on a trip, but in reality it doesnt make you trip harder. It relaxes the body and mind which could for some, lead to a stronger trip.
Thats just the science behind that sort of stuff. I remember taking lsd and drinking oj back in the day. I can honestly say, the suger is what effected me most.

The VC thing is not totally untrue. It is a bit diluted by false hopes and thus, claims about its potential.
