B. Alvarius - Colorador River Toad
    #6159651 -

Soo I was looking at Bufo Alvarius. My brother recently aquired a neat litle turtle and it seems like it'd be nice to have a pet, especially since my cat is getting old. Anyways a massive toad is appealing especially one that produces 5 methoxy dmt eh.

Does anybody own one? Whats it like? Good pets? Good suppliers?

They are expensive and hard to find. There is online sites but I wouldn't trust getting an animal through the mail.

Well I was hesitant to get my toads through the mail but they ended up getting to me in perfect condition.

They're actually very good pets and are fairly easy to care for. You just need to have a water dish, hiding spot and substrate that they can burrow into. That's about it. The only real pain in the ass part is dealing with the crickets. They were fairly expensive though - $275 I think for a male/female pair.

Just make sure you're extremely careful if you decide to get any of these while you still have your cat. They have the potential to kill a cat or a dog. I have mine in my computer room and I keep the door closed most of the time. The only time I let my cat in the room is if I'm able to keep a watchful eye over her. She's very curious about them too.

I had a chameleon but let me tell you after a couple years it can get real old having to buy crickets a couple times a week. I really wouldn't get one unless your into the animal itself not the potential high. I thought about getting one myself before I think it would be a really cool pet. If you get one let us know how it works out.

Chameleons are cool. Within the first few weeks I got sick of having to go to the store for crickets so I've just been ordering them in bulk online since then. I'll order a box of 'em and it'll last several weeks so it's a lot easier and I think it works out to less than the Pet Store even with the shipping.

Eventually I'd like to maybe start breeding crickets but I've got a little too much going on right now to do anything with that.

I cannot imagine how smelly and loud a cricket breeding op would be. Disgusting. I used to order 1000's at a time for bearded dragons from a place in LA.
