several viruses found on computer

It appears I have contracted several viruses.

They all came from pictures in my temp files. AVG can find them but can't get rid of them. What do I do?

keep scanning. some times it took us several runs to clear a virus, like it was jumping around on us.

TRy running a scan in safe mode, it should be able to delete those files.

If not, find the temp file and delete everything that's in it.

You heard wrong.


Using it is bad if you don't know what you are doing. The best way to use hijackthis, is to do a scan, post the log in their forums, and let the guru's tell you which entries to delete, and which to keep, as mentioned by ShroomieOfDoomie.

hijackthis can be detrimental IF NOT USED PROPERLY.  Used properly though it is a very effective tool. :smile:

Yeah don't fuck with your registry if you don't know what to look for.  Those changes are immediate and there's no undo option.

Yeah I repair computers and some girl brought a computer in telling me how she was using regedit and all of a sudden her computer stopped working. Don't fuck with stuff when you don't know what you're doing.
