LC questions

I made 4 jars of Karo LC.
Pressure cooked 4 seperate pint jars of 3/4 pints of water and one tablespoon of karo.
Let cool over night in the pc.
inoculated in glovebox with same procedures I have always used for my grain jars.
Two Jars recieved spores from one print.
One jar from another print.
One jar with tissue of Garden Giant from a vaccutainer.
inoculated 6 days ago
So far, what I do see is very small whispy growth where all the spores are clumped together. Not anything like what I have seen in pics...
So, today I prepared three more pint jars with 3/4 pint of water and 3tablespoons of karo per jar. Tomorrow I plan to inoculate.
Did I not use enough karo in my first jars?

if anything you put too much. but id say your amount is fine

From the post searches I have done so far, some say give it up to two weeks before determining it a failed attempt. So, I guess I will sit on my hands til then.

one tablespoon per pint jar is about right, i use slightly less.

I dont know if you had your question answered yet so I'm gonna give ya my input as I had the same problem. only use 1/2 tbsp per cup of water and for even faster results use 50% water/50% coffe mix instead of just plain water (you still use karo though)

You may have made it a little strong with but my guess it is should be OK,When ever I have done karo its 6ml of karo to 200 of water.Just wait and see what it does and get some honey for you next LC,it kicks Karo's ass every single time

You had about 3% sugars in your first jar, which is a very acceptable amount. I'd look elsewhere for your error.

Save yourself the trouble and toss the jars you prepared with 3 tablespoons, that's definitely far too much.

It takes a tiny amount of karo to do jars, and if you are seeing wisps around the spore clumps that means it is not failed!! its growing.. mine did this and are still growing veryyyyy slowly.. I hear honey does better, also read about doing air exchange on lcs basically you put a bic pen in another hole (not the innoc hole) with poly fill for air exchange hear it grows way faster..

Not only that but try taking a sterile syringe in a few days, suck up some air in the lc inject it into the liquid many times... made mine grow a bit faster, not only that but swirl it really good and suck up a syringe full and leave that syringe alone for a few days to week I have white myc alllllll in my syringe!!
