Yeah I told her to get one.. I used to work at a computer shop and we sold them.. People had very little problems with them.. Just make sure you get a good cooling pad.. Laptops tend to run very warm..

the XPS are good laptops. and as an added benefit, if you ever do have an issue with your XPS, tech support is in the USA so there wont be a language barrier between you and some guy in india named Bob who is reading off a script.

if you decide to get a dell, get everything you want to buy on the same order number. if you do that, it will all be umbrella'd under the same service contract. if you speakers malfunction, you get new speakers. if your printer goes bad, they send you a new one. if you rub the letter off your keyboard, they will even replace your keyboard.

the XPS and Dell On Call support are in Nashville. Gold Technical Support for small business is in nashville and GTS for large business is in Minnesota. everything else goes to india.

Definately in India. Don't get salty because you were wrong.

My friend owned and XPS and I will tell you this: It's not worth it.

Take the $3,000 and spend $2000 on a sick gaming desktop and $1000 on a basic laptop.

The laptop will hold music and get you through class without being huge and heavy and screaming steal me, and when you get back home you can play hardcore on your desktop.

My buddy sold his XPS and did just that.

lol... i can SEE them from where i sit. i am an L2 at dell. from where i sit, i see all the gold tech support people and most the XPS people. the DOC (dell on call) people are on the second floor so i only get to chat with them when i smoke.

if you have an xps and get someone overseas, just tell them you have an XPS contract and they will send you back to the states to talk to someone.

I have an XPS M140. It's good for what I need it for, I don't run games but I could. I got a good deal on mine. There is a Dell outlet store online I think you just type in "dell outlet" in google. They have brand new computers as well as ones with recycled parts.

Yeah, I think you do call India when you call support. They are really polite though.
