MONEY MONEY MONEY NO WORK NO WORK NO WORK
    #610765 - 04/17/02 12:56 PM (15 years, 1 month ago)

I was thinking, now that soon I will have to start working, but I don't want to! I hate seeing people going to work everyday till evening!! OUR LIFES ARE SPOILED!! And for what? For little money? Why? What have I done to diserve this?? I want to live without working!! ALL the jobs are fucked up!! It's not fair! I just want to read, grow, trip and have trips around the world, HELP people, but in the real way of helpping not like those shit charities where rich people meet to display their fancy clothes and cars and give little money to the "poor"!! I think it sucks!!
I think you have all think about this... Maybe my thinking like a naive guy.. Who knows...

You don't have to spend your entire life working a 9-5 job that you hate just so you can survive. However in our current society this seems to be the only way for most people.

There ARE other options, such as living within a community that grows their own food, builds their own shelters, and thats all they have to worry about. Your only concerns would be for tending the crops and spending the rest of the day chilling with people, reading books, smoking herb.. whatever you want to do. The average corporate citizen works 8 hours a day at a place that does not fulfill their spiritual needs, just so they can buy groceries, pay the mortage and credit card bills and car insurance, and have enough money left over to save for a "Vacation." The average farmer lifestyle takes about 3-4 hours a day of generally enjoyable work, you don't have to worry about paying credit card bills, insurance, groceries. You take pride in your work because you get to see the fruits of your labor and enjoy them. You work when you feel the need to, and you can take a "Vacation" whenever you damn well please. Lifestyles like this require the effort of other people working together to make the community function properly.

These places exist, and they are not as rare as one might think. Expect to see communities like this popping up all over the place.

It is possible, I am 35 live on 30 acres, grow some of my food, work from home with my wife, and have a grate time.
I left the crazy life of the city 2 years ago, my secret work hard for a few years, buy a piece of land were taxes are low, build on it, pay cash if you can if not get a low mortgage, and pay it fast once you take care of shelter you don't need that much money to live good.
Don't get into debit I repeat don't get into debit, society will try to do every thing possible for you to get into debit, if you want something and you don't have the money wait, until you do.
Try to live simple; time is more valuable than toys!
The only problem that I have now is that all of my friends are trapped in the rat race, so most of the time is my wife and I, and occasional visits from them. I would love to have people like-minded were I live, but haven't funded yet.

Hey Shroomism do you think you could give me the locations of some of these places (if you know them that is, and preferebly in Canada) or maybe just point me in the direction of where I could gather more information about them?

I'd suggest before anyone commits to living in a community, you go to Rainbow Gathering for a while and see what they are like. From there you will get a good feel of the style of living and will meet a lot of interesting people who can help you find the place you need to be

That's sounds great! I am pretty impressed! I was kind of thinking to play a trick on the society. To do something that will enable me to do everything I want without working all day long! I see my father for example, that works from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m or sometimes longer...
By the way, do you grow mushrooms there? (sorry if the question is too direct)..

just do something you like, for example...i love the outdoors, and animals, and am very interested in that kind of stuff, so im majoring in either archeology, ecology, or anthropology, i have to decide by next semester. i could never work a normal 9 to 5 behind a desk all day, nor would i want to, and if all else fails, become a bhuddist monk and meditiate all day and do nuth except live in spirituality
