First time casing attempt questions.

Hi all,
I'm going to attempt my first casing, I want to start out with something that is easy enough that even i can do, I'll crumble cakes into a pan with a verm casing layer with no bottom layer.
My questions are, What thicknesses should the mycelium layer and verm layer be for best results, And what would be the best way to sterilize my casing layer?, Will h202 be enough?.

just put the casing layer in the microwave for 3-5 minutes and that will be good enough. you can use however many cakes you want. just make sure the size of the container you are using is appropriate for it. (don't use a huge pan for 1 cake)
