First Casing attempt

Upon my first casing attempt I used 2, 11 X 9 inch pans. On the bottom I placed perlite about 1/8 to 1/4 inch. On top I placed crumbled cakes(one pan used Ecuadorians the other Golden Teacher) and the substrate was about an inch to an inch and a half deep and then I cased it right away using the 50/50 tek and I added some lime (2 tbl spoons) and then boiled the mixture in a pillow case for an hour and then squeezed out the remaining moisture and cased. I then threw the 2 pans into my 86F incubator and for 3 weeks barely any kind of growth showed at the end. Well anyway due to moving and such I handed them off in my terrainiums (1 in each) with next to full humidity and they recieved varing amounts of light from a friend until I got them back a month later with no change which didn't surprise me. Well Anyway I thought the problem was due to casing it right away and possibly sufficating the myc. So I took a fork and cleaned it with rubbing alcohol and scrapped away the majority of the casing and left a little, added what I thought to be quite a bit of water because I could tell it was really dry to watch it all get soaked up. Well needless to say a week later I had what I feared was cobweb mold growing so I sprayed it with straight 3% H2O2 that one would normally have and I did notice a reduction and retreat of the white kinda almost fuzzy shit on topthough it didn't fizzle like I was expecting. Well the growth began again about 2 days later and noticed that it looked like the casing was drying out again. The humidity is above 95% through perilite, but I thought the casing needed more water again so I added a little, not nearly like before, straight water and again noticed the retreat of the white fuzz part. But now 3 or 4 more days have passed and the casing looks dry again on top. I know that I am ressurecting my "friends" cause they got overly dried and kinda sufficated and poor light cycles. Now I've keep them at a light cyle of about 12/12 and it appears to be that the casing is showing positve signs. No pins yet on either though. How am I doing with this? How often should I have to spray and how much water do you all think it needs? Should I give up? Any help will be most greatly apprieciated. "Nightmares never last. youre giving it light and humidity? thats the problem. the casings need to be kept in a warm dark place untill you see some mycelium spots popping through. i guess its supposed to be 33% but i just wait till theres some spots. after that has happened you give it light and humidity, because that triggers the growth. i bet you have a shitload of tiny aborts under that casing layer that will lead to contams.
Why am i surrounded by idiots???
