My San Pedro is hurting. Just a few days ago these black spots broke out on its head. Mostly in the crevaces of the ribs. What is this? Infection? What can i do to help it or stop it? They don't seem to be getting any bigger but its only been a few days. I'll try to get a pic up when I can. Any help would be great.

I would say lack of sunshine/overwatering. Most likely the first, I kept my pedros in a corner a few winters ago and they started getting those black spots all over. i cut them off repeatedly to try and slow the spread, but they kept going. They survived until spring and after I put them in their normal summer location (full sun) they black spots seemed to die off and turn grey. They just leave a little scar on the cacti. This winter I have kept them on my covered porch in full sun, and no black spots to speek of.

if is an unrooted cutting you're killing it due to too much direct sunlight. if is an established plant then probably you're watering too much.

its an established plant. I recently took a cutting from it though. It has been getting a whole lot of sunlight though. Texas is heating up and the sun is quite bright lately. TOO MUCH LIGHT?! really? I haven't been watering it all that much either. once every 2 weeks about. I haven't fed it in a while though. could it be because i haven't fertilized it yet? How often do you guys water san pedros?

i water mine every 1-2 weeks depending on weather try to keep it in middle light fo a couple weeks or until you see some recovering i don't think the lack of fertilizer is the cause
