He is looking real hurt lately man. He looks so fucking worn down...Good thing Sheff is taking lessons at 1B cause Giambi is just not on top of his game. (Though Sheffield playing like his 5th game ever at first base in the postseason reeks of liability.)

Yeah I noticed that as well. :frown: Hopefully he'll be alright come time for the series. :grin: It's been about a month since he's hit a HR hasn't it? It's going to be nice watching the Yanks play in the series this year. I really don't think saying that is getting my hopes up either, it's going to happen. We've been triumphing adversities all goddamn season. :rockon: :beer:

We are the AL East champions, clinching is just a formality. :grin: And I really think we have a GREAT chance at the Series.  Look how our important players are rounding out the season...jeter ends a 25 game hit streak, next game he hits a 2 run homer, he is HOT.  A-Rod is out of his funk. Abreu is riding along smoothly. Cano has been consistent all year. Posada is hitting .350 in September in the best season of his career.  Matsui is like 10 for 25 since coming off the DL...we are so ON.

Miguel Cairo definitely.

But who out of these three: Aaron Guiel, Craig Wilson, Andy Phillips? I wanna see Andy Phillips in, and probably Guiel over Wilson. Wilson bugs me. His stance...he's just not Yankee postseason material to me, except for the purpose of defense.

As far as pitching: bruney, rivera, villone, proctor, karstens?, who else?

Oy oy oy. Well Myers for sure. Villone, boy I don't know, they may have burnt him out. Farnsworth, yes. Rasner for long? maybe.

Cairo may have been replaced by Green on the depth chart. Wilson can also catch and has more pop but I think they're into Sal for that spot. Still, it can't be dismissed. All depth should otherwise point to first cause Giambi's a clank and Shef might be (that is not a given, by the way)

I don't think Cairo has been replaced by Green...Cairo was just hurt, and the fact is, Cairo has postseason experience, and that is gonna be very important to Joe Torre. Nick Green has done a good job filling in at multiple positions, but I think I trust Miggy more.

I think Guiel, since he apparently can play first base now, is a better call than Wilson.

Myers absolutely, when it comes to pitching. Farnsworth I forgot about, and Rasner or Karstens for long was my thinking. I wonder if Villone really has burnt out.

Right now we need a combination of yankee wins and red sox losses that equals 3 for us too clinch the division. For example if we lost 3 nights in a row, but if they lost too, that would bed 3 losses on their part and we would clinch the division. If we lost two nights in a row, and they lost too, and then the 3rd night we won and they won too...well it would sitll add up to 3.

So if we win tonight and they lose, that's - 1 and -1 which leaves the magic number at 1. Which means tomorrow if we win or they lose, we clinch. Nothing changes for the magioc number if they win and we lose, though. Except their magic number goes down...but they dont even have a chance, unless we lose every game and they win every game

We seem to be coming down to Guiel/Wilson thing. In the nd, it's going to have to be for first. Yankee outfielders: Damon, Abreu, Matsui, Cabrera, Sheffield, Williams.......Guiel/Wilson? Whoever is more versatile stays. I'm guessing Wilson
