I was going to make a post this morning on the subject that there weren't any Hallmark greeting cards for 9/11. It was elaborate and quit well-worked out, but I deleted it, and now it's gone.

Even though, it wasn't a joke about 9/11 so much, as a criticism of contemporary society and how we market, capitalize, and politicize, such events; still, it didn't feel right, so I gave it the boot...

Tragedy plus time equals comedy, but it still might be too soon...

Frankly, I don't know what upsets me more; the actual terrorist attacks which took place on 9/11, or what 9/11 has become as a brand, a trademark, a media entity...

I'll have to try and catch it. I do like Dennis Leary (he had a great out-take in "Natural Born Killers." It was a truly great rant.).

Law & Order and CSI pretty much ruined network tv for me. They were kind of edgy and clever when they first came out, but now they're just an endless expanse of formulaic franchises, being clever for the sake of being clever, and ultimately, exceedingly boring in the result...

It almost seems like, anymore, that when you turn on the tv, and flip through the channels, that all you see is Reality TV shows and Law & Order or CSI franchises...

Nowadays, I spend all my time watching the Turner Classic Movies channel and living in the past... :wink:

A guy walks in and asks the bartender, "Isn't that Bush and Powell sitting over there?"
