(this was around august of 98) Every year since then I've had to drive three hours out I-20 to find them. Then last year they start showing up around the horse park again. From what I've gathered, cubes used to be plentiful in mid alabama, georgia, south carolina, and over the past few years with the drought, they have almost disappeared. Now with the rainfall amount starting to come back to normal, so are the cubensis fruitings. I expect them to start making a regular appearance again this year out towards the horse park.
