heater

i have a 100 W aquarium heater to heat a 1 1/2ft. long, 1ft wide, 1ft. tall plastic container. the tek calls for a quart jar of water, but i dont have any quart jars. i was wondering if i would be able to use a flower vase that i have. it holds a lot more than a quart and the heater is 8 inches long so i have to put enough water in it to submerge the heater. it will probably end up being in about 1 1/2 quarts of water. would this be a problem? i'm not sure if there is any difference, i just didnt know if it would make my terrarium too hot or not hot enough

In my opinion, Id suggest getting the largest container you can find, without taking space in your terrarium. I use one of those glass gallon jugs that apple juice comes in. You could also just cut off the top of a 1.5L water bottle. Just have it long, but not taking up too much space. IF you have an 8" heater, you might have alittle difficulty fitting it into the 1" high terrarium...
