Covering the inoculation holes on lid?
    #592004 - 03/28/02 03:11 PM (21 years, 8 months ago)

Ok....I have just sterilized my jars in a pot...I used the PF Tek for instructions.
They say to use tinfoil to cover the jars. They say nothing about tape. They also never say to recover the jars with tinfoil after using the spore syringe.;
What the heck should i do?
Should I just leave them uncovered after I inject the spores?

Well you should have had either tape and/or tin foil on the jars when you put them into the pot. This makes sure steam and water doesn't splash up into the holes and gets your dry verm layer wet.

After I innoculate them, I usually just leave them off. Good luck.
