Using orchid mix for wood lovers??? is it a viable medium?

I was just curious if something like this could be used to grow wood loving species http://www.charleysgreenhouse.com/index....d2=-99&cid3=-99

A lot of em use perlite fir tree bark and some other special stuff,would it provide the proper environment for rhizo growth or is it absolutely not something you should mess with? Thanks for any info you provide me on this I have quite a bit of it at my disposal and was just curious

I seriously doubt you would have any luck on coniferous bark but if you give it a shot, let us know how poorly it performs.

ive grown subaeruginosa on rose clippings and pine bark so anything's possible.
