Wheat straw/cow shit casing
    #589946 -

AFOAF used a wheat straw/cow shit mix with a cup of lime (pasturized)
for a casing and she is not sure if the mix is to compacted, it seems a good moisture content but just hard. It looks like a huge, thick pile of shit, with some straw here and there. The mycelium poked through the top layer already in a few spots and fruiting just began.

What should she do? Please help!

If there's only a few pins, pick them then case, if you're determined to case that is.
Otherwise let it run its course and when it looks like there's not going to be any more fruit, pick any aborts, flip the straw cake over, then case. It's been known to work.
It's also been know to not work:D
