Wheat Straw: To case or not to case...

Does anybody who uses wheat straw out there find that you get better flushes if you case or does it not matter?

I understand that casing is the preferred method. Be sure to add a neutralizer/buffer to your casing layer, it will help to keep the pH neutral and to prevent contams.
