You will need to spawn grain or birdseed or cakes into the cow shit.
In other words....you can't just drop spores into cow shit and expect to grow mushrooms.
Please do some reading.
Also the search works wonders.

Ok I'll let you in on the secret that no one else is telling you guy. You got pretty close to the secret method with your question. What you need to do is buy a cow, feed her spores mixed with wheat straw and rye berries at a rate of 1 bushel finley chopped straw to 1 and 2/3 cups rye berries. Besure to mix the spores into the rye berries thourghly and add this mixture to the wheat straw. Feed this mixture to the cow once daily for one week. After this carefully harvest the cow pies, besure to get the entire pie. Place each pie in a rubbermaid container, incubate for 1 week in darkness keeping the temperature at 74.5 degrees with a relative humidity at 82%. At the end of the week apply 40 lumens of light using a 20 watt refrigerator bulb for 18 hours a day. After six days you should see pins starting. When this happens switch the light to one hour on two and one half off.
In a short time you should have mushrooms.
By the way Bkack Angus cattle is best, but if you are growing in a small area and don't have enough room for the Angus you can use one of those midget hourses (Sorry, I can't remember the breed name. If you look in the Frequently Asked Questions or do a search you should find it) While in the frequently asked questions you could actually read some of the other information there and expose yourself to some other methods of growing just for general knowledge. I know reading is a pain in the ass, and if its to much trouble for you let me know and I'll look it up for you.

Also shrooms grown on cow shit, are probraly not as potent as home grown, but you probraly knew that. One last question, I was recently hiking through these mountains, and there were huge 1.5 +- terd piles, they looked like cow poop. But this region was very rocky, and these terds were everywhere, I doubt even a horse could ride through, or even supply the amount of terds here. So what do you think all these terds were?

I;ll follow up the lizard tek soon, if their are positive results. I recently bought two jackson chameleons, caught about 5 anoles, 10 geckos, and collected a shitload of shit, Know that I have their shit, all over a bunch of logs. I hiked up the mountains and let them go. Just today, I sprayed spore water all over the logs, I hoping for shroooms, I have accidently cultivated shrooms like this before, not psychedelic, but rare, and beautiful, so lets see what turns up.

Oh, about the terydactl, good awnser, this is not horse terrain, or anything that big. Mystery will go unsolved... But I did happen to see some superphosphorus, old old bird droppings, in a collected pile, Birds shitting collectively, maybe, I know that superphosphorus is very valuable, as this is the main resource of the phillipines, but what do they use this for? Hydroponics? Vitamins? Shroom Nutrient? Next time I go, I am colllecting.

cool, I have never found wild, so I am only guessing. But I was under the impression that artificial substrates can be tweaked to allow the shroom to take on the characteristics of the substrate, But if you say that cow shit has more nutrient then Brown rice flour, you may be right. I wish their were studies with percentages and what not!

So I got one log in a incubation chamber,(my compost trash can) I was using it to stir all my compost around, so I left it in there, and now there are big white patches of mycelium all over the log, I doubt mushrooms will grow off this log though, even though I have seen other species do this. But P.C cannot grow off wood can it?

A friend suggested that i wait till these patches grow thick (the rest of the logs are inside it now) and then scrape them into bags with just rice powder. Has anyone does this before? Sort of like the "Myco Bags"

Even so, brown rice flour is cheap where I live, 79 cents a pound, so any suggestions are appreciated, even if there is a 90 percent chance of bacteria, I'd like to experiment a little. I started another thread about this in Adv. Cultv. (Homemade Myco Bags) so you can follow up here or there, either one.
