how are dreams so fucking creative?

i just woke up (i went to bed with a good beer buzz).
anyway.. i just had a dream which had 4 or 5 very discernable sections (a fair, a creative game type place, a concert, a bedroom, etc). They all intertwined in ways I couldnt even come up with sober.
like in one part i was at a muse concert, and the lead singer was playing a tropical song with a banjo. his bassist and drummer were lying in hammocks. when the song was over people cheered and the camera zoomed in on his addidas.
his addidas had no logo, and the singer said into the mic 'you know, people ask me about my shoes, and how i got addidas with no logo. the shoes do their job when they dont see the non-logo, the paradox is when they notice there is no logo and ask how i got them without a logo.'
Ok.. im trying to recall exactly what was said but i can't think of the wording.. only the general idea. in my dream it was worded so much better, it was more clever and slightly witty. i know this for a fact because in my dream, the singer said it.. and i didnt understand it at first (because it had lots of double negatives), it was like i was zoning out in my own dream. so i repeated what he said in my mind.. while i was in my dream.. and then it made sense and i laughed while i was watching the concert... like my mind somehow fucking thought of something that quickly before i even knew wtf it meant.
how the hell can i come up with stuff in my mind in my dreams, that i dont even understand in my dream until i think about it
like seriously wtf.. i cant think of stuff that twisted when im sober, yet it POURED out into my dreams. i can think of like 40 different instances just from my dream last night..
the world is ending

I don't really know how it works. I've also had some really creative shit happen in my dreams. It's weird.

Really? I also used to smoke a lot of dmt, though I've had really strange dreams since I was a kid. Do you ever have nightmares?

I once dreamed my uncle owned a department store and Britney Spears was chasing me with a shopping cart. I also once drank a bottle of Nyquil and dreamed I was in Mike Tyson Punchout.
Dreams are awful.

I had one this morning that I woke up at 10:40 and grabbed for my cell like I do every morning to see if I missed any calls or whatever, and my girlfriend sent me a really witty text message, and I guess I dreamed that I went back to sleep, and I woke up again and grabbed for my phone and it was 9:50, and the text message didn't exist. It was so real too, pretty crazy.

maybe if your soul is dying, dreams are awful. lol.
adjust-i dont have nightmares. ive only had 3 that i remember as being TRULY scary.. where i wake up in a sweat. usually my dreams feel like closer to me than other people (im guessing.. or they dont talk about it).
dreams to me feel like... some mystical part of me that tries to let me know that good things are to come, if that makes sense. they are just cool colors and shit.

some would say dreams are what you want in life.. i think it was sigmund frued who said that when we dream we are really computing brain waves into images in our sleep.. and those brain waves are complied to create ideal scenarios or things that we fear
idk i kind of buy it

It is strange but I don't even remember my last nightmare. I must have been like 7 or 8. Sometimes "scary" things happen in my dreams, but I am not afraid at all.
I remember a dream I had being killed by a dog. It was biting my stomach and started to pull out my intestines. There was no pain or fear, I just knew I was going to die and lied there.
My dreams are generally not what I want, they are almost random situations but the locations are recurring. There is a weird mall I dream about often, a construction project where I'm up on a half completed roof, my school room from grade 5 (dunno why it's always grade 5), and a couple other places.
Once in a while I'm flying in my dad's airplane around the old airport... only it's a lot different than it actually is.

Dreams certainly are strange aren't they? I just woke up after a long involved dream involving a murder-mystery in England. It was pretty crazy.

Like in meditation your brain goes into states of higher forms of consciousness. The impossible become possible and anything and everything is possible. Try dreaming when you are awake.

Do you mean just straight visualization? Or an actual dream-state where you are, in essence, "nodding off" on a journey, floating along, while awake? Or is there even a difference?

I mean mu state of conciousness. Observing the surroundings and thoughts, if you sit there and you notice the thoughts watch them come and go long enough from an outside point of view, just noticing and watching them. You can get past them, into another place, a place where visualization of anything can manifest. Like a vast space from where creativity comes from. That what they don't teach in schools. We watched the muppets as a generation talking about it. lol
