Amanita Muscarias in Sacramento?

After reading the noob posting rules, I believe this is a satasfactory question. Do these mushrooms grow in or around Sacramento CA. If not, what nearby towns have they been spotted in.

I wouldn't doubt it.. they are found in many places.

I can't speak from personal experience or anything though, as I live on the opposite side of the country.

Yes, in fact they grow almost everywhere...you'll be able to find either Amanita Muscaria(red) or Amanita Muscaria var. Formosa(orange)...research them a bit on erowid.org....look for them in conifer tree plantations in the woods(i.e. spruce and pine).

Yes, they can be found in California, and I believe are more common in the northern parts. In northern California you are more likely to find the red Amanita muscaria, rather than the lighter yellow or white varieties.

Furthermore, Amanita muscaria, the Fly Agaric, is not the only red Amanita, and many A. muscaria look-a-likes are deadly poisonous.
