Dry spores rock

Hey everybody.. I was just writing this thread to see if anyone else has had similar experiences to AFOAFOM.
He ordered a spore print from THE... He made up 5 spore syringes and let the spores hydrate for 24hrs.. After inoculation the jars took on average 5 days to germinate (i.e. produce white mycelium..)
He said that this was usuall in his experience, and that all the newbie tek's said that you must hydrate the spores to get faster germination...
Well... Being one to experiment, he then tried several batches, of just scraping spores from the print, strait onto the substrate.
On average, he found that germination occured in TWO days with this method.
Just wondering if anyone else has had these results..?

A FOAFOM uses a bed of, WHOLE sterile Brown Rice, put in a dark WARM place. Germination occuring in 2 to 3 days tops! No vermiculite.
