humidification problem

I'm having trouble keeping my terrium at 95% + humidity. It doesn't seem to want to go higher than 90%. I have a fairly large terrium (38qt) and a little over two inches of perlite on the bottom. Any suggestions on how to deal with this problem? Are my casings getting enough humidity (I also mist them once a day)? Thanks.

Did you put water and Hydrogen Peroxide mix into the 2" of perilite ? Do you have a good hygrometer ? Do you see condensation on the sides of your terrium ?

How do you interpret condensation on the tank? Beyond showing a sign of humidity?

I just soaked the perlite with water and let any excess drip out before I put it in the terrium. Does it matter if there is 3/4 of an inch layer of water in it too? I have a pretty good hygometer. I bought it about a year ago at a home depot. I'm not really sure how accurate it is, but I assume it is fairly accurate. There is lots of condensation on the inside of the terrium

>I'm not really sure how accurate it is, but I assume it is fairly accurate. Assuming won?t make it accurate. Test it, the method is described here: http://www.shroomery.org/findorgrowthem/calibrateyourhygrometer.html

The casings don't need humidity above 90%, they maintain their own moisture.

I am having major case/substrate moisture problems. colonized grain is at a depth of about 1 1/2", and cased with about 3/4" 50/50+. before the first flush is even done, the damn case and substrate start shrinking away from the sides... . the case isnt TOTALLY dry and flakey to touch.. but its definatly not as wet as it was when it was cased... or in pinning. the 2 new radiocrap humidity guages (ones $50 and ones $75) read around 90%. and an old bonnaire reads 80.. but its old.. and cant be taken as accurate.. i dont think. the new radiocrap one was calibrated at about 78% in a salt saturated solution (i read that a solition like this would yield 75% humidity) so i'm calibrating it as 3% high.. so the humidity is supposidly at about 88-92% constantly. there is a constant air flow. how the hell do you keep these things moist, with keeping the humidity at 85% for casings,
