i'm pretty lazy too, but if you have a true desire and passion to do something then its not a matter of laziness you WANT to do this. if your not interested enough to get up and go buy verm and brf, then maybe you should try another hobby.

actually, i am very motivated to grow mushrooms. i just wanted to know if its possible to grow mushrooms on potting soil and nobody has answered my question yet. Maybe I'll hafta go out, get some BRF and vermiculite and innoculate some BRF/verm. jars and some potting soil jars and conduct my own experiment. I just wanted to know before i go wasting spores.

i vaugely remember seeing a tek floating around somewhere using potting soil. in what capacity i can't remember, if i had to guess though, i would say it was being used as a casing material and not a substrate. the substrate is where the mycelium gets its food and nourishments to support the growth of fruit bodies. there is little to no nutritional value in potting soil.

I use Capt Max's mix ratio. 2 cups Verm 1 cup Brown Rice Flour 1 cup water Works fucking great.

Hey man, I use that exact same ratio, but I call it "PF Tek". Credit where credit's due. The recipe is different but the ratio is the same, he just multiplied the amounts by four. Not flaming you bro, just making an observation. Noone should rename the PF Tek just cause they poured a out a bigger pile of it. And juggalo, if you're really that lazy, order you some mycobags and take a nice nap. Free Spore Ring
