simple substrate preparation formula for noobs

simple formula when creating brf/verm substrate

recipe for substrate for 12 half pint jars
2 2/3 cup of brf
8 cups vermiculite
2 2/3 cup of water

formula for (x) # of jars
all measurements in cups

[brf] .222 (x)
[verm] .667 (x)
[water] .222 (x)

Looks to me like X= # of jars. Multiply by the decimal value to determine how much of BRF, Verm, Water to mix all at once.

basically

x stands for the # of jars you want to prepare with substrate to be sterilized

the decimal # next to the x is the amount in cups of substrate material

so using the formula if you only wanted to prepare 5 jars instead of 12 you would follow the formula below

brown rice flower .222 (cups) x 5 (jars)= 1 cup
vermiculite .667 (cups) x 5 (jars) = 3.4 cups
water .222 (cups) x 5 (jars) = 1

there ya go easy as 3.14159 (pi)
