okay so the po plants about 9-11 inches tall, super unhealthy, root system is FUCKING tiny!! So what I did was took a knife to the stem, scrapped off some skin all around the stem (not the whole stem) then put it in rooting compound then in water with pH7.0 compound in the water.. also there is Lava Rock in the water, and I have i under a flouresent light, All im trying to do is get more roots, Do you think this was a good idea? the whole part is scarpped has compound in it and its all in the water, and im gunna keep the light on 24/0.. Rememebr all i want is more roots, fuck growth right now, jsut roots... Was this a good idea? or did i just fuck up majorly?

Ha, yeah I wouldnt have cut off any roots, especially if I was trying to get root growth.
I don't know man, that's just how experimentation goes, if you want more predictable results, then don't experiment
Is this the hydro plant? I hope you used bagseeds.

I think he meant he just scratched a small place just above the roots in which more should grow, not remove the old root system.

If they have some rootage plant them up and pack some mud around where you cut, that might help. You could try feeding them with a high phosphorus fertilizer to boost root growth. If you keep them in water they should grow more roots eventually, hopefully !

i really doubt that what you have done, will make your plant grow ANYTING faster, roots included! Your plant will FIRST heal the damage you caused, THEN, it MIGHT grow roots from that spot. There is NO way IMHO that you have benefited your roots or your plant.
It sounds like if you did everything PERFECT you have just Air Layered your plant where the stem meets the root base. No one does this, because it is not beneficial, unless you plan on removing the top canopy and leaving the roots intact.
If however your plants damaged stem is sitting under water, you are inviting stem rot, where you won't even know you've got it until its too late.
Either way, your plant is not going to start making roots, until it fixes the problems you have given it.
Look up air layering. It is a lot slower than some cloning techs, but it will keep your plant # low until you are ready to use your clones. This is hopefully what you did to your plant.

alright im looking this air layering stuff up right now. And the 2nd reason i did what i did was because the stem closer to the ground was thin, and the stem clsoer to the sky was fatter, and i was afriad of it breaking, so i wanted to get roots to come out of it since it was skinny, then jsut put that in the ground... Now back to websearching Air Layering plants (Air layered)

okay i jsut read a document about it, and that seems liek what i did, jsut not the method i used :P, but yes, that is what it seems like i did, but i seen pictures and it rooted it then they had 2, in their example it showed a plant broken at the stem, so they got a bag of dirt a tied it around the broken park, took it off a few daus later, and it had roots, then they had 2 of that plant, me, im using water instead of dirt, cup instead of bag, and ending with 2 instead of 2 plants
