Any luck or experience with "Poor Man's Terrarium"

I know this zookeeper and his friend wanted me to ask this question about using a 2 liter bottle as a terrarium for a 1/2 pint jar shroom cake. He happens to have limited hiding space and can only afford enough space to hide 2 liter bottle terariums. He was wondering if anyone has tried this setup and if using perlite within the bottle would be a good idea. The spores he wants to use are comming up on 6 months old and he was wondering if the age of his spore syrinches will affect production in anyway.

It works. But not only with coke bottles. It works with every container, as long as it's big enough. Perlite would be a good idea. That would turn your bottle into a small terrarium.
As for the spores, you shouldn't have any problem.

Yes 2 liter bottles work great.
So do the large Cool Whip containersfor the bottom part......then I use a clear candy container for a dome top.
If you have a Costco around....they have these great bulk plastic containers with lids....they work great too.
They all have perilite in the bottoms.
Just be sure and fan them several times a day!
I have mini Terrarium's all over my Computer room...lolz
They are fun to watch.

Yes the syringes should still be good.
