I want to go to Ireland

By myself.

But I'm not sure how to go about doing it.  I figure I'll save up about a grand, hop on a plane and see what happens.  I've been looking at this 'Busabout' thing where I can travel around on a network, go where I want, stay where I want and it's very reasonably priced.  There are other hippies on the network, too...so I'm not really going to be ALL ALONE.  I can hook up with other busabout travellers and stuff.  There's a message board where you can get to know your fellow busabout travellers beforehand.

I'm at a point in my life where I can't figure out what gives, so maybe I need a crazy adventure.  I've always wanted to go to Ireland, so maybe this is the greatest idea ever?  Or the worst?

Any Irish shroomerites out there?  :smirk:

I have not seen that movie. Isn't Paris Hilton in that? I don't think my life will ever resemble a Paris Hilton movie.

hmmm I dont think she is in it no. She was in that movie about wax tho. Or was it that movie. I cant remember.

Wonder what ireland is like now. As in the summer. Is it anything like england looks in the movies? cloudy.

Here's my advice: take somebody with you.

I don't think that it's a good idea for a woman to travel alone. Not because they "can't handle it" or some other sexist nonsense...but because there are just too many damn weirdo guys out there who prey upon women.

I'm Irish, but I'm not from there. From what my grandmother talks about, it's a wonderful place. Go for it. I can't wait till I can afford to go. There's still family there so it will be that much more worth while for me. and it will be something to think on in a few years.You'll be fine sweetie.

Sounds great Bom!.. except that I don't see Ireland listed as an applicable destination on Busabout's website :confused:

Either way, travelling kicks ass and I sometimes wish I hadn't started up my own biz, simply 'cause it's had me more trapped within my current locale than my spirit would prefer! :crazy:

Like you have always dreamed of Ireland, I have always dreamed of Austraila, and I actually came hella close to going one time a few years back. It broke my heart to have to back out due to lack of money. :frown:

I hope it happends for you! Ireland is another place on my list to go, but Austrailia for me is where its at. haha

I say go for it, it will most likely turn out to be great, might not though. I had a great time going solo and also one time it didn't go great. But it might be different for a girl. Most girls I met on my travel were travelling with other girl(s).
I'd also advise to travel a bit around Europe, Ireland isn't the only place  :grin:
