I'm not sure what the point of this post is, guess I thought people could provide some helpful input.
At 14, rather unexpectedly, my father was arrested for drug related crimes. Little did I know, I would only see him once in person for the next 11 years.
As a free spirited, friendly but somewhat troubled young man, this would be a terrible change of life. I lived with my grandma who was not in any way like my father who was always friendly and never mean to me like my mother and grandmother were. He told me stories of how my mother treated us when my brother and I were young. It made sense to me and also made me realize how stupid my mother was, to be mean to children. My dad saying she used cursewords at us like adults. I believe this was particularly traumatizing for me as a child and I now have much trouble socializing and relaxing around people sometimes and havent had many relationships.
I find it hard to think straight sometimes and I take it harder than I should when someone is rude or mean because I would never be rude to them unless they knew better but didn't care and needed to have something said to them.
I spent 25 years of my life in the USA and now I am in Ireland, where I am an actual citizen because my father was born here.
I am trying to be more social but there is some sort of barrier in my mind keeping me from this. I'm not really shy, I just can't seem to become interested in the idea of talking to all these different kinds of people. I tried some weed that was very strong and became quite paranoid and even more nervous. I believe I may need a low dose of LSD or ecstasy.
That's all for now, will probably update this later and respond to replies. Gotta go visit some family. Thanks for reading.

That's a big step. Gettin' back to your roots is cool. I traveled Europe as a teen, never made it to Ireland though.
I heard them lads don't know how to party on St Paddys Day over there. You'll have to let us know in 2 months if that's true. lol...

Have you tried locating your father's family over there yet? It's going to be awkward no matter what, but at least with relatives you have some common ground to start from.

Try not to use drugs to help you become social. You might get stuck in a loop where you think you need the drugs to be social. If you're going to do it anyways than try alcohol. Its a more social drug.

So, based on my calculations. OP is either from Georgia, Alabama, Iowa, North Dokota, South Dakota, misouri or Nebraska. Essentially, the bible belt.

As others have stated, relying on substances to help you open up, is a damn fine way to become reliant on those substances in an unhealthy manner. I hope you find what you're looking for thirtygoats, and also a few Psilocybe semilanceata too!
I filmed this in Ireland years ago.

I meant to say my father was deported from the States about a month ago and I boarded 4 different planes to get there. Flying was new to me so when the plane accelerated for take-off, I was a bit scared but it subsided after a few seconds.
We've been visiting my dads mother in a nursing home and lots of family members. Its not too awkward around family though. I had a few beers, courtesy of my dads sister, which helped me relax. One was called Trouble Brewing and Mcgargles. 4.3% and 4.5%. Never seen these kind but they were good.

They party over here like its a competition everyday or something. I'm living in a hostel where there's no curfew or anything too restrictive. People walk around freely being as intoxicated as they want and its only a problem if they're causing problems which is rare. I think my dad said its like an amazing spectacle on st paddy's day. Not a whole lot of cops and no police brutality as far as I know.

Its quite cold here. I think it was 35 fahrenheit, or around 6 Celsius. Its not too bad. If it was like -30 Celsius, I'd be afraid to go outside, heh.
I'm in Dublin, BTW.
I like all the different accents I hear, especially the Irish ones. They can be talking about something fucked up but their accent makes it funny.

I've been looking at all the courses and opportunities and things like that. Money every week and possibly free housing. The courses are free as well for someone in my position too. I haven't decided on what I want to study, but I enjoy assisting people at the nursing home, which is apparently not all fun and games but I'm not afraid to clean up nasty shit. I may get into nursing.

Is the primary language english? And im really curious for im on the verge of doing something very similar. Whats your plan? Is this indefinite? If you dont mind me asking, did you do this financially stable? Have you saved for awhile?
Did you kinda up and run? Actually, i feel like you've planned this for awhile, getting back to your roots and all.

Yeah there's mostly English speaking people but some have such a strong accent, you almost can't understand them... And the girls are adorable when they talk lol
My plan is just to live and survive here. Uh yeah I plan on staying. Who the fuck wants to be in a country run by trump. Er, actually not even trump, just the US congress and its old fashioned ignorance is enough to reduce the population.
I was waiting on my dad to get out of prison. I've been waiting for a while to go. My family paid for me to go. Fucking social welfare people won't give me my free money that I'm supposed to get so I'm not even doing that much better over here. I'm eating better, not on any drugs except weed but ofcourse I still have these mental problems that never go away and bother me everywhere I go.
Here's another. That's my dad talking in the video. He likes to talk a lot. I didn't talk, so as to give the viewer the experience of being there, I guess.
