I feel like electronica incriminates me

Dont know why but these days I hesitate to listen to hardcore with my speakers pumped. Im beginning to think this sort of music makes me come across as a druggie to neighbors. Anyone else feel this way?

Nope.

I want my neighbors to hear my music. To many of their damn kids just listen to top 40 crap. So During the day I'm in my garage with the door open and mixing it up for the neighborhood.

Yeah I used to feel that way and sometimes I still do. Like I normally won't show off my favorite Infected Mushroom track to people I don't know because 9/10 times it is a waste of time and is relatively uncomfortable because people just HATE electronica sometimes, especially stuff like Infected Mushroom.

Yeah man.  My buddy was just over and I was playing some Capsula and Sensient tracks.  He said "sorry man, I guess I just don't get it."  It needs vocals man.  I lose interest.  I told him that the use of the sound effects and surround effects are the vocals.

Fucking people.....oh well.  :laugh:

Its quite funny but yet pathetic how quick people are to generalize electronic dance music. Just today I was driving around with some psytrance playing and came to a light where a bunch of little black kids started hopping around and tried raving. Oh well...its their loss. People dont know what they are missing out on. If people would ever think for themselves and not follow what MTV says is "cool" people would appreciate it more.

Yeah man I sympathize 100% with this... especially since the pattern of music I listen to suddenly changed.. from led, beatles etc to psytrance and psydub =/

I catch myself thinking that way... My neighbors were blairing some psytrance and I thought, "Wonder if they could hook me up with some party favors?"

I jam it at work though... it gets me on a good fast paced rythm. I end up getting a shit ton done.

I started to listen to electronic music LONG before I ever did drugs. It wasnt untill going to raves/parties for about 3 years before I decided to try drugs for the 1st time.

Yeah agreed. I was head-over-heels in love with electronic well before drugs were part of my worldview. I wasn't too into Psy/goa before drugs though. Drugs defenitely were THERE for that. I don't know if they helped or not.
