Why don't i see any mycelia on my casing?

I cased 3 cakes all of different strains using the SOS tek on saturday night and today the only thig that has happened is on the PR casing there is some myceila growing through the top. The other 2 show no signs of progress, they are B+ and Hawaiian. Do I need to wait a little longer or is somhing wrong?

Its not unusual to not have anything visual showing already. I have innoculated and not seen any signs of life for a week. Depends on your temperature. The warmer temps provide faster growth. I just place them in my closet with no artificially supplied heat and wait about 1.5 months for full colonization. L8r bro.

I thought you were talking about innoculated jars. I'm crazy, hey I'm at work. Anyways. I wouldn't worry about it. It would depend still upon the temp and the moisture level. Sometimes when I get mycelium really wet it can take quite a while to recover. I wouldn't worry about it this early in the game. Another factor, How deep of a top casing layer did you add?

I have some casings coing also.. and im wondering, should they have light 24/7 ?
they are in a closet and I have a lamp set up in there but i only have it on now and then.

you dont need light 24/7....as a matter of fact it doesnt have to be bright light either...just give it some light and drop the temp when you want to start pinning...the lamp on every once in a while like your doing is fine
