Substrate questions

I'm making a substrate based on a recipe from The Hawks eye. One of the ingredients is 'Bran flakes' , all I can find is organic oat bran flakes, will these do? Also the recipe calls for finch seed...is this one particular type of see or is it simply the seed bag designated for finches at the pet store? Thanks in advance

probably. if theyre organic id think so; other than that they may be the same thing or very similar.

finch sed has a high concentration of millet; the little tan ball-like seeds. pure millet s the optimal ingredient; finch seed just seems to have a lotta what we need. if you want pure millet i just got some from www.ebirdseed.com. also got some oat groats so well see how those turn out also!
