Shrooms next month in PNW??

Ok, my friend told me today that next month (may) is the shroom season. He does not know that much about shrooms, and im pretty sure he doesnt know what hes talking about, but are there possibly any types of active mushrooms that grow in the PNW around late spring/summer? And if so, what kinds and what type subtrate can they be found on?
I know the official shroom season is fall, im not a noob.
I just want to clarify whether my friend is wrong or right. Im guessing hes wrong.
PS. If someone can answer me a another question, what season do pelliculosas grow? And clarify for me that they are found in clearcuts (thousands of them in WA alone), and at what altitude would you think would be the ideal place for them?
Last season was my first actual season hunting, found hundreds of Cyans, 3 amanitas, but I am interested in other species such as the one mentioned above (pelliculosa), Libs, and Boeyosytis, or however that one is spelled.
Please Help me, im looking forward to your responses.

He's wrong, you're right. Main season there is fall-early winter.
You MIGHT find some Pan subbs, or maybe some freak fruitings of Psilcybe stuntzii, but thats about it. Either way, both mushrooms are fairly weak compaired to cyans, baeos, and azures.

Blue ringers (P. stuntzii and P. fimetaria) and P. sierrae can grow all year long if the weather conditions are right in the Seattle area. I have posted pictures here before in Feb, March April and May of blue ringers with newspapeer headlines to show proof of growth.
You need to look in n brand new lawns around condos and office building and fast food restaurants in subburban areas of Seattle during those months/
P. subnbalteatus can also be found in soils with mulches in the Seattle area at this time of the year, expecially areas with sprinkler systems.
Here are a few examples from that period from March and April of 2001. I have more but this should provide you with an example of that period of growth.

Thank you for the help, I would rather not waste my time looking for those, but your posts did help indeed.
And also can anyone try to help me get as much info about pelliculosas as possible. I live about 12 miles away from Mt Rainier, and about 6 miles away from clusters of clearcuts.
Thanks

MJ's on the money. While fall is a shroomer's FAVORITE time of year, spring can bring fruitings. And it's worth taking a look. ALWAYS!
Look for a CHANGE in weather. Several days of Sunny/warm - moving into a few days of cooler/wet. It always seems to me that the CHANGE is the thing that make mushrooms grow, especially temperate varieties like those in th PAc NW.

P. stuntzii and P. fimetaria can produce up to fifty pounds of shrooms ona new lawn. IF you were to walk by such a lawn you would sureely not ignore it.
AS for Pelliculosas. Theygrow from late OCto to the first weeks of january if there is no freeze, preferred habitat, in clear cuts wherwe alder start to grow after cedar and otherhardwoods have been logged out.
Pictures can be viewed for over 55 species at the Shroomery's Ultimate shroom guide posted here int he sticky in this forum.
there are over 5,000 photos of 55 species of magic mushrooms in that species ID section of the shroomerys guide.
