Vendor Forum Changes - Important.

Well we've given people warnings, tried to keep things under control VIA PM's (Thanks CJ and Dioze)... But nothing seems to keep this kindergarten mentality away.

So thanks to all that, this forum is now fully moderated

What that means

All posts will now be first approved by the admins (myself, anno, 3dshroom) and the two mods for this forum Captain Jack/Dioze....

We will all try to keep the wait for your posts to a minnimum, between us five there is quite a bit of online time, so it shouldn't be much of a problem....

For now this is a testing thing, we'll see how it goes and evaluate this in a while...

O.k., I'm all for this, but can we go over the submittal process. You know, who do we first notify and what time of the day is the best for this etc. etc.

Does this mean that comments and views that you don't "approve of" will be censored?

I would also like to point out that I made a post in the suggestion forum last night about perhaps having a contest forum so the vendors forum is not so cluttered. It's had 6 views and no replys.

The posting process remains the same for you. You simply post a thread or a reply. The post is not immediately visible but goes into a cue where it is either approved by the people mentioned above or rejected.

As I see it, only a few percent of all posts will be rejected, namely only the posts which solely purpose is to start shit and flame wars. All "normal" posts will be approved.
And yes, in this case the admins and the mods decide what is "normal".

Wow, I've been very busy lately and I haven't had much time to lurk around as much as I'd like to.

But from the PM's and emails that I've gotten, I guess things (mud slinging, flaming, etc.) really have gotten pretty bad on this forum if this is the course of action that needs to be taken.

I hope things work out! And I hope our new "fully moderated" forum proves to be beneficial to ALL vendor customers:)

Hmm.. I havn't been here in over a week and this forum is falling apart again je je je :smile:
JackMeOff, the only reason you ever come to this forum from what I have seen is to flame me and other vendors.
I personally welcome the new approval policy change. To bad its going to create a lot of xtra work on the mods though.

Ryche Hawk? He barely posts here in this forum.

This 'moderated' forum is a test, we wanted to try it out.

Basicly the reasoning is that 'some' felt this was their personal playground, and that they could say/do whatever they wanted. Some people were banned, but not much has changed in the last 4-5 months.. So this way people don't treat this forum like Off Topic..

This forum has a purpose, by moderating each post we ensure that we keep it on topic.

This by no means is permanent, but we wanted to make a strong point that just because you feel you have the right to say anything here, doesn't mean anyone will ever see it...

This forum is not about freedom, its about announcements, customer problems/feedback, and other vendor related issues....

It is not what it had become, a endless flame war. People seem to think that disliking someone gives them a right to flame, well thats just not reality.

There are rules, and people will follow them or believe me they will not have a username to post here...

Posting at the Shroomery is a privaledge not a right, once a few bad seeds realize this, everything will turn out fine.

i would say the contests forum would be a GREAT idea.. the only reason i read the vendor forum anyways :wink: plus there are contests held all over the place, it would be a lot easier if it were centralized.. plus now with that approval stuff ( a good idea IMO ) who wants to be approving a shitload of "yes yes add me!" posts?? i doubt a contest forum would need to be fully moderated
