Questions about identifying aborts
    #554384 - 02/17/02 11:41 AM (21 years, 9 months ago)

Ok, so a foaf wants to know what qualifies a pin as an aborted shroom. If it shows no noticable growth in a few days, should it be picked? What if it shows very little growth in a few days? FOAF can't really find enough info on this subject to make a call to pick or wait. What do you guys think?

The heads will turn black. That is the first stage of rot and you will want to pick them ASAP so they dont totally rot / leech moisture and nutrients from the substrate.

What should be done in this case:
Primordia is roughly two inches long, is a dark brown on the developing cap, hasn't grown noticably for 36 hours? Should it be pulled, or should it remain until the cap turns darker? This is the mexi strain btw (not sure if that matters at all).
Thanks.

if it is 2 inches long it is a carpophore not primordia.. i would wait until i see the cap turning bluish black before i picked it..
