Aborts

I'm a first time grower of Psilocybe cubenisis on rice cakes. I know that I have to remove aborts before they rot or cause contamination. In all the information I've read there is no length of time given as to how long to let them grow before removing. The information just says to remove them before they rot and cause problems. Do you have an estimate in days as a general rule?

when thet stop growing for a few days pick them. try not to let the cap turn black though; thats when it startd 2 rot.

It would probably be more effective if you learn to identify aborts. The way you tell is when they start growing very slowly and eventually turn blue. If you you see the cap turn blue, pick the shit. Aborts are VERY obvious-you can't miss them.
