HAPPY EASTER
    #5521192 - 04/16/06 02:22 PM (17 years, 9 months ago)

Dear Brethren -
Consider forgetting all you have heard about the Resurrection of Jesus the Christ - and learning a completely different version. NOT a resusitation of a corpse, but a re-establishment of genuine awareness in a 'Body of Light,' but a 'Body' without form or limitation. Consider that there is a 'sense' of 'I-ness' that accompanies us throughout life. We are so used to it as a 'feeling' of familiarity that it is difficult to grasp it without all the attending memories, experiences and emotions that color this sense of 'I.' Allowing the psychic 'garb' to fall away during a 'trip' is what we call ego-death. When the physical and psychic 'garb' fall away, we call it physical death. Allow me to put forth that our core 'Self' remains, and not to put off Buddhists, this Self is the Very Clear Light - always has been, but we kept identifying ourselves with the 'garb.'

The Clear Light, the True Self, the Diamond Body IS the Resurrection and the Life. The Resurrection is no morbid reanimation on Earth in some future time - it is NOW when we Experience Self-Realization - when we experience ourselves as being both human and Eternity simultaneously. If we can surrender the psychosomatic mind-body at death - let it fall away - the Resurrection Body remains. May we all live long enough to be willing to make this surrender so that we do not experience life as being 'taken' from us. Here is an esoteric meaning of Jesus laying down His life for this process. May we all be prepared to die if our lives ARE taken from us +++Amen+++

Great post

We are Eternity trapped in a manfiested substitute.  Our physical bodies hold within an eternal treasure. When the Body of Light within is illuminated, the physical body merely becomes a cage. To do otherwise is to allow the dream to consume. Life in many ways is a knot in the divine life-line, and too often we see the knot as the end of the rope. Personal resurrection is to become the straight line again, surpassing the entanglement of manifestation.
I like how Stephen Hoeller put it in one of his lectures: "We spend our whole lives trying to fit into this painting that is life. But what do we do once that painting is taken away from us suddenly?"

Happy Easter  :sun:

Peace/Shalom

Thanks for the response. I remember when I spoke as you do and people would say to me, 'Gee, you don't get laid much do you?' I had an existential problem with being-in-the-world. I still do, but I've surprised myself. I have a hard time with being-in-my-own-skin. I'm not comfortable with my body. Don't misunderstand, I'm a lean 146 lbs. and toned. Most people say I look 30 something, but I'm close to 53. I can't relax unless I'm peaking on an entheogen. Not just muscular relaxation, or even subtle-astral-subconscious relaxation, but something much deeper. Sexuality does relax me on psychophysical levels and leads to sleep. The relaxation I'm talking about leads my mind to my Heart Cave (not the Anahata Chakra of Yoga which is an astral level). I become Centered in a Place which seems to spill forth my astral and physical body. During such times, I experience Self-Realization. Death becomes completely acceptable and I have fearlessness (not bravado, but complete peace).

Being embodied is not a meaningless thing to be regarded as mere illusion, or as a prison. This is where Kabbalistic philosophy has positively modified my otherwise world-denying gnostic yogic position. It has helped mend a rift between the pleasure of being embodied (for me, foremost in sexuality versus food, sports or other embodied activities), and my 'desire' for a blissful, asexual, desireless, transcendentally ecstatic state. We can be human, consecrate everything to God, and not live in dissipation or excess. We do not have to lose ourselves in embodiedness, in luxuriousness, laziness, unconsciousness. We ought to take good care of our mind-body while its here and entrusted to us.

Peace.

Yeppers.  The first paragraph, especially, is fantastic.

And with Easter just 13 days away...

Hey - I've been kinda meaning to ask you - what's the significance of a good birthday?  I was born on April 1, 1988 -- which is several good things...  it was Good Friday that year - also year of the Dragon....  that's not precisely why I chose this name, although partly I 'spose... I love dragons... but anyway.  Yeah. :sun:

Also this guy named John something in Texas changed his name to John WorldPeace on that day... I never write about him almost... he was - ah, somewhat 'there', but not really, not fully healed and such --

Almost gave me a Christ complex but -- nah I understand that all are equal .. all are capable of divine consciousness -- divine light and such --

And, -- That is what separates me ... 'coz I know, everyone can get there. :sun:  hehe. . . .

It's not possible or not easy, or not very possible to convince someone with words who doesn't understand this. . . .

It's an interesting hang-up . . . . I do recommend removing it if anyone has it  hehe. . .

What I mean is -- it's not just the born-brilliant who are able to reach divine consciousness --

Truly everyone can, what to speak of other mammals and animals, and such.

To go back to my question - I know you're not an astrologer and -- I'm not really knowledgeable or very interested in it....  Just as a general question--

And by know, I mean at least by advertisement, 'coz of course, I only know what you share. :sun:

Anyway have a beautiful day, and my apologies for the off-topic question; I'd just been meaning to ask and seemed like a reasonable time / place to.

Great thread again and Happy Easter.
peace and happiness and love to everyone.

oh -- and of course, while it's not possible to convince with words -- once one learns the Shakti and the rest -- love and consciousness do all of the work. :sun:

oh - and saw the write about fearlessness (read the first post thoroughly, and others later as I sometimes do)... If anyone were bored, I wrote a lengthy post about the topic (same title) here (on Dharmawheel)

I suppose I might be flattered that you've attempted to unearth a post I wrote almost 11 years ago, but MtG is a bit different now. I weigh about 155 lbs. (still lean though, more muscle) and now I'm 63 years old and would not begin an address with "Brethren!" I wouldn't read too deeply into your birth date unless you'd like an astrological horoscope (I'm into personality measures of all types).  http://alabe.com/freechart/

"Being in Christ" in the Christian idiom is not a matter of attainment or achievement. Like the Buddhist take on Buddhahood, it is an eternal verity that is present here & now and requires Realization. That Realization happens when the "egoic-mind" [Eckhart Tolle] is quiet, and when we have surrendered to the moment. It is free and available to everyone. It is not a matter of great intelligence and big ideas. It comes in moments of kindness reaching up to "Unbearable Compassion."

Happy Easter!

That's a great description of it; what I feel, you expressed it very well.

I am . .. I saw you just recovered from a type of cancer scare; I am convalescing myself, and I am just about there...  I lost a lot but most all of it is returning.  I'm glad and, discussing these things is also very  good.

That's the thing especially - it's not dependent on intelligence or big ideas. . . they can be expressed that way, but it's a connection, experience, or state of being more fundamental than ideas which come from it.....  In fact, while ideas are useful, if not taken with a measure of salt, they can hamper, or keep one from getting beyond them..

I see one of the main obstacles to many intelligent persons, who are also spiritual - or at least, let me say, I have seen, - not understanding that every person can reach that state...  Even if they've had a life mired down in the illusion pretty heavy -- and of course, it is easier for those who have had less, or been closer to the creative, alive, divine state of life...  Then they are closer to it, more able to feel it and express it..

Just kind of thinking out loud really..  But it's really interesting.  An interesting way to gauge where we are is - to ask ourselves, is there anyone we don't see as capable of attaining it?

Anyway, I guess that expresses it ...  Like I say, I'm almost recovered fully - after some time being fully recovered, that will be wonderful. :sun:

And yeah -- your mention of compassion of course reminds me of the Dalai Lama's :

To be happy, practice compassion; to help others be happy, also practice compassion.  OK, I paraphrased it a bit.

Ah, and of course, while it's a nice thought experiment to ask ourselves, are all humans capable of experiencing the divine state? - if there's someone we happen to think isn't able to reach it,  it doesn't behoove our progress very much to focus on it too much.

Which is very simple of course.

Ah, and thank you too for the reply on the other -- I was a bit embarrassed even, later, and almost removed it -- but, will leave it for sure since it's part of the conversation and such..

Very interesting Astrolabe -- Free Chart...  Some of this is spot on.

Rising Sign is in 13 Degrees Capricorn
You are practical and reserved but very ambitious. An achiever and a hard worker, you respect success. Older looking and very serious as a youth, things lighten up and you relax more as you mature. You have a serious view of the world as being a difficult place to be in. Very envious of those who seem to have an easier life than you have, relaxation and play do not come easily. It is important that you had abundant parental support as a child so that you do not feel lonely and isolated as an adult. Generally, you have a good, earthy sense of humor that can carry you through when times really do get tough. You are purposeful, self-willed, industrious, realistic and responsible.

Sun is in 11 Degrees Aries.
By nature, you are very energetic and high-spirited. You are fiercely independent -- you must be first in everything you do, and you enjoy taking risks. You are the one who will rush in where angels fear to tread. Quite brilliant at initiating new projects, you are terrible at following them through to completion. You are an enthusiastic leader but you tend to be a reluctant follower. Often you are quick to anger, but you usually recover just as fast, regretting later things you said when you were upset. One of your best traits is that you are simple and direct, blunt and honest -- just be careful you do not hurt others' feelings. Your need to be competitive at all costs may provoke resistance from others, but, as long as you maintain your usual Sunny good humor, this should not prove to be a major problem for you.

Moon is in 29 Degrees Virgo.
You tend to be serious-minded but cheerful for the most part. You need tasks that engage both your mind and your hands. A careful worker, you enjoy making things. You are neat and orderly, and are very concerned with good health habits. Fastidious to the extreme, you cannot tolerate messes and will immediately clean them up. Reserved, shy, and very self-critical, you tend to be very hard on yourself. You usually will go out of your way to be helpful and useful to others. Practical, reliable, efficient and conservative, at times you are a bit of a prude. You are known to lead a simple, uncomplicated, frugal, methodical and unemotional lifestyle. You are devoted and caring to those you love.

Mercury is in 23 Degrees Pisces.
Your ideas and thought processes do not come to you in an orderly, logical fashion. Instead, you think with your feelings or with images produced by your rich and fertile imagination. A very subjective person, your dreams and fantasies are very important to you. You trust your intuitions and tend to reject ideas that are based solely on logic. Very impressionable, you are sensitive to the moods and emotional states of those with whom you come into contact.

Venus is in 27 Degrees Taurus.
You are known to be a warm and affectionate person, and you tend to form long- lasting attachments. The reverse of this is that you can also be quite possessive once you have made a commitment. The beauty, luxury and comfort of your surroundings are important to you and you will devote much time and energy to making your home just right. Beware of your tendency toward self-indulgence, especially with respect to eating incorrectly. You also need outside stimuli to get you in gear When things come too easily for you, you can be lazy and indolent.

Mars is in 26 Degrees Capricorn.
Extremely ambitious, you are willing to work very hard to reach the goals you have set for yourself. Very practical, cautious and conservative, you demand tangible results for your efforts. You need to excel in whatever you do, and you have the required sense of responsibility, dedication and self-discipline to bring it about. Beware of your tendency to judge others only by their degree of status and prestige, or by how well they will be able to advance you in your climb to the top.

Jupiter is in 05 Degrees Taurus.
Growth only occurs for you after you have found a stable lifestyle and a dependable, protective and secure environment. You are at your best when those around you provide you with a great deal of affection and support. When you feel insecure or threatened, you tend to become possessive and grasping and self- indulgent. You are an inveterate collector with an expensive preference for all the good things that life has to offer.

Saturn is in 02 Degrees Capricorn.
Very serious-minded and mature, you have the ability to take on responsibilities and to carry out important duties. You can also be trusted to be extremely practical and thrifty. A good organizer, you are the ideal one to be counted on to take a clearly defined project through to its logical conclusion. An achiever, you pride yourself on your ability to focus your attention totally on some worthy goal and then attain it.

Uranus is in 01 Degrees Capricorn.
You, and your peer group as well, seek out practical solutions to a changing society's attitudes to customs, traditions and authority structures. Your logical and orderly manner of dealing with these matters will result in permanent and carefully planned, but sweeping, reforms.

Neptune is in 10 Degrees Capricorn.
You, and your entire generation, will idealize work, practicality and the ability to attain reasonable goals. But, because you will also stress the need to be selfless and giving, you may find it difficult to attain your goals unless you have lowered your expectations on all fronts.

Pluto is in 11 Degrees Scorpio.
For your entire generation, this is a period of intense research and discovery in areas that were heretofore considered mysterious, remote or taboo. The root causes for many complex occurrences will be unearthed due to the intensity and thoroughness of the search.

N. Node is in 23 Degrees Pisces.
You're attracted to others who need your assistance. You seem to go out of your way to form relationships with those who are weak, sick, injured, addicted or troubled in some way or other. At your best you can indeed provide the relief that others need. But at times you can be victimized by those who would prey on your good nature and take advantage of you. This can lead to all sorts of negative situations -- make sure that those you assist are truly worthy of your time, energy and commitment. A little enlightened self-protectiveness on your part can make your life work much, much smoother!

Just as a final note, I have been opening up a lot more, and trusting - and it has been miraculous.  That's like - over the last few months or year or so.... Just a general, gradual trend.

But definitely in that direction..  and as I notice the correlation, I let it happen more..  That is - I've always known an open heart was a beneficial thing, but there was sometimes a tendency of competitiveness to it. . . I grew up with striving to be .. well, the best -- and also, quickly learned that letting go of striving was a good or essential key...

But still that's striving in a sense..  But - with the latter aspect of trusting - it's a little different.

I'm glad it was appreciated :sun:  I kinda thought it would be....  and not meant at flattery I promise -- I don't like flattery very much, on either side...  but, friendliness, kindness, compassion, and the rest -- are wonderful.

I hope it can be forgiven me putting the whole text of the chart... I think, it's mostly all positive things.

Peace and love   or, have a great day

Oh, and thanks  I meant to say.

EASTER? by Jefferson Airplane (A bit dated by Pope Paul, but still worth listening IMO)

"Easter?"

Golden velvet robes on Pope Paul, he's talking--he's stalking devils of
flesh. Rides through the streets instead of walking. I think his holy story
is a mess. All I did last Easter all I did was paint some eggs. It was a
resurrection holy day-- no more nails in the holy legs. Only one true holy
book in your hand. Singing in Latin nobody understands. Licking wafers
paper thin.

Ah, stupid Christian isn't it grand? Is that your reason for this day? Do
you have a little something holy you'd like to say? Something about a magic,
sacred, holy day. You look holy and humble on your knees, but it looks
funny when you run that way. Pope Paul taking all your money for turning
your feet into clay (pigeon).

One man of peace dies, and a hundred wars begin. You keep murdering
people in his christian name--I thought he said--I thought he said that was
a sin. Soldier where have you been? What is your reason for this day? Do you
have a little something holy you'd like to say to me? Something about a
magic, sacred, holiday. All I'm going to do this easter--I'm just going to
look for eggs. It's a resurrection holy day--no more nails in the holy legs.
No more brains in the Christian.
