What if I pin to early? What will happen?

Hi, I'm just wondering what will happen if I initiate pinning to early. One of my jars got contaminated, so I decided to just case it to get some more experience in growing shrooms even if I'm not going to eat them, and I figured I'd get a few spore prints out of the deal anyhow. I see the nice mycelium on the surface, and in a few spots, I patched it when it first came up. It's 2 days later and there isn't a lot of mycelium on the surface, but what is there, is very even across the top of the casing layer and it is nice and white. I wish I had a picture, but I don't. Since this particular case was contamed in the jar, I just want to grow a shroom or two real quick so I can just make a spore print to start again with a new batch. My question is, if I initiate pinning early, what will happen? Will they just not grow? or will the flushes just be smaller, as well as the size of the mushrooms? I guess I could just try it and see for myself, but if nothing will grow, there is no point. So that is why I'm asking! Anyone know?

Nothing will happen. I bet the nice fluffy white growth that grows prety fast is in fact contamnation.

The only correct way to deal with a contaminated jar is to dump it.

Well, I guess I'll just let it sit for a few more days, then see what happens when I start the pinning. I'll post the results up here.

I think you were right Anno, I checked on it today, all the stuff off the top was gone, when I checked underneath, the mycelium was a yucky yellow brown mucky looking mess. I tossed it. I think maybe I fanned to much, I guess I'm not supposed to fan at all when I first case the myclium for about a week to buildup the CO2 and wait until the mycellium are on the top of the casing layers. Is that right?
