Hey mushboy, let us know how you do with this, if you get this to fruit I would like to know how you did it. I have two cultures of this from last fall, one was cloned and one was started from spores. I did not get them to fruit, after your post I transfered one of the plates on to more agar to see if they would still grow, they do. I you are interested in culture let me know. I gave away most of the spore prints I had from the find already.
The mushrooms I found were growing on buried wood chips.

the new strain is called "hed yuk fung" means giant straw mushrooms. grow them in the same manner as the regular strain. noc up some wbs and clonizes a bag of straws, then get more straws and layer them with fresh straws and then the colonized straws and reg straw and so forth until you get 4+ layers, some mix poo with the straw... cover with breathable black tarp and wait a week and it'll be dinner time. peace siam

I will do it this way. I have a couple more questions. Is the straw fermented?
Do you maintain a culture or do you start from spores on every batch?

you can leave them on agar or colonized straw in a cool area but never in the refridge or they will die. best way is to keep them in a slant. no the straw is not fermented, but paz, just soak the freash straw and paz with heat...don't use chemical paz tek..doesn't work. peace siam
