I just thought of the ultimate trip tip......tripping while scuba diving in the peacefull, serene, life of the ocean...just imagine looking at the beautiful colorful school of fishes...and all the crazy and alien-like landscapes, corals, it would be soo cool....until jaws comes and chomps you into half.

I guess that would depend on where you are diving. Up here in Vancouver the water is quite cold and murky, with nothing colorful to see. It sound like it would be interesting somewhere warm, but a little too risky for me.

i think scuba diving would be pretty dangerous while tripping, just because you have to be aware of your nitrogen levels and all of that. you fuck up, and that's it for you. if it weren't for the practical reasons, it would be amazing. snorkeling might be a little less dangerous, as long as you stayed in relatively shallow water. all the colorful fish and the beatiful clear water... that would be the shit.

what a horrible idea. scuba diving sober is dangerous as is. there are so many things to keep track of and remember. you could die so easily scuba diving while tripping. i hope no one does this.

I agree. Avoid diving in the water, stick with snorkeling at a beach of tropical reef or something. That would rock anyones ass off. Anybody here ever tripped at a water park before?

I think tripping while scuba diving would be great. No hearing and no feeling just swimming around looking at crazy shit. I am sure if you have already learned how to dive and you take a low dose then you should be fine. A snorkel would be safer and probably still pretty fun.

Even swimming was too much for me. If you get the feeling that deep there in the water a shark is waiting, then you?re out of water in no time, and the feeling isn?t pleasant....

Scuba diving is not particularly dangerous, as long as you are properly trained and follow the rules. Of course unexpected things can happen just like with anything else. But as cool as it is to imagine, scuba diving while under the influence of any drug greatly increases the risk and is incredibly irresponsible. I can imagine you could easily get carried away and forget there are certain precautions you have to take. This is alright to do if you have a death wish, or maybe if you took a very low dose and had alot of straight people around to help you.. but altogether it's a bad idea. Diving is an awesome experience anyway without drugs.

You don need drugs, just take a deep dive SCUBA course and go to the limit with compressed air (30 - 40 meters) and you WILL have a nitrogen NARCOSIS, that can be very strong. SCUBA would be taken seriously, I now a couple people who have died.

I am a divemaster. Worked in Hawaii for a couple years doing it. If I found out that any of my divers were on drugs I would kill them myself back on the boat. If you're gonna do this, do it as a solo dive so you don't put your dive buddy(s) in unneeded danger. Oooo look at the pretty..... and forget to check your air and depth, it's your life. If you are going to be stupid anyway: Don't put those responcible for your safty in danger. Know the dive site inside out like the back of your hand. Only attempt in perfect weather/water conditions. And the big one, be an expert diver and an expert drug user 1st. 150 dives is an absolute minimum for this type of stupidity. Several trips under your belt is also a minimum.
Bottom line: don't do it!

not very smart especially if you are near deep water after one night of drinking and being tired, i almost killed myself was at 100 ft on a wall to 4000 next thing i knew i heard clanging on the tank i didnt think, didnt say i should check my depth didnt check my bc somehow looked at the gauge, not by choice, i wasd at 150! i was nrac'd, when you get narc'd the danger is, you dont feel drunk or stoned thats the danger, you dont feel it well then , like a pavlov dog experiment i went up to the dive level of 100 ft, not because i thought ineeded to, i couldnt think, i just did it then i ran out of air at 100 ft if it wasnt for a dive instrcuctor with a pony i would not have been able to decompress
bad bad idea, and that was just a little hangover, and im nitrox certified

That is so crazy and stupid. While shrooming you lose all sense of time, how could you remember to check your depth, how long you've been down? As said before diving is so incredible without drugs, why risk your life?

if you just wanna see with it would be like to be fully underwater do it in a pool with plenty of people around to pull you out if needed. If its for the sights then, do it in a swimming pool thats been converted to look like the ocean floor with plenty of people around

Most of the best reef's are in depths under 40 ft... if you found something nice in like 15 ft water you could dive pretty safely for around an hour. I just got back from Grand Cayman~ often over 100ft visibility and no current, it'd be one of the safest places to try it... not that I'd want to. I tried diving in a pool high durring my certification and it was crazy fun. Heh I can't imagine tripping on a wall dive... just 3 days ago I was on a wall dive at around 120 ft that dropped below 6000 feet- pretty freaky while straight.

Maybe start this out within the confines of your bath tub.......if it goes well then feel free to expand your under water domain

I have wanted to do this for a while now and I have come up with a decent plan for those who are interested. First and most importantly, this is DANGEROUS and should not even be thought about being attempted unless you are BOTH an experienced certified diver AND an experienced tripper. Here is the plan: This probably would only be fun in a shallow warm water coral environment such as in the Caribbean. Now it is true that there are lots of things to think about and keep track of while diving but the two critical ones are your air supply and no-decompession limits. This is why I would only recommend a shallow (<50 feet) dive, and not anywhere near a wall or anyplace where it is even possible to be deeper then 50 feet. This would allow you to focus only on your air supply (which you should CONSTANTLY be monitoring) because unless you are using a multi-tank setup your air supply is not going to last 80 minutes (which is the no-decomp limit at 50 feet). Secondly, I COMPLETELY disagree with the "divemaster" who recommends not diving with a buddy (which is the cardinal rule in diving). You should dive with a dive buddy you know who is sober and is COMPLETELY AWARE of what you are doing. Also, you should know the dive site well and take only a low (1/2 eighth to 1 eighth) dose of shrooms. I would also recommend practicing to see if you like it by snorkeling on shrooms first. As long as you don't panic, have a well planned dive(make sure your buddy has a secondary air source and you should have a pony bottle also), and follow these recommendations you can trip while diving with atleast a small assurance that you will be ok.

been diving since 1977....not a smart idea.....water is not a natural place for us to be....if things go wrong, we generally die. Much less chance of this on terra firma. I can understand the fascination - it is a beautiful world below the surface. A good dive is a trip all in itself, without the enhancement of shroomies. Too much stuff to keep track of and too uncertain to manage those not so expected occurences....
-------------------- Its all about perspective.....spend more time "being, less time "doing"
