i am on my first grow as we speak and i have noticed that there are stripes down the side of the stems of a few of the little ones. they are the same color as the cap is this normal?

they are thicker then that. i am going to try to take a pic but i don't have a macro so i don't know if it will get it

hmm, maybe ur pins are bigger than mine then, hence the thicker lines. Other than that i dunno mate, but im pretty sure its fine.

Yeah they are fine. I get them all the time on my shrooms. I remember reading somewhere that it is caused by something but I don't remember what it is. I have never had a problem with them though. They always come out just fine.
