Yeah... the average person knows them as a hardy cactus that is good for landscaping.

I bought a couple 20+ inchers at target for a real bargain. They were overwatered... but a quick transplant fixed them up nicely.

ive seen some rather large cacti in my desert i pretend to like and call my home but thats definatly the biggest ive seen. and i agree just think of how many people you could send into the land of FUBAR what that much sanpedro.

I'm starting to have serious thoughts about taking some cuttings to the AZ gathering to hand out as gifts.  I'm still not sure how I feel about taking cuttings off this beautiful specimen though.  It seems wrong to damage such a magnificent cactus even if all parties involved gave consent.

What a dilemma... :confused:

eh you wouldnt realy be damaging the specimin at all. you could take from lower side branches. and i also note lots of little ones sitting on the ground right in front of it which would make ideal cuttings.

Wow, that is ginormous! Yeah, I think it would almost benefit it to be pruned a little, those branches seem pretty crowded. Take a few cuttings to start a tree at your house so that in 15 years, you'll have some guy with short legs knocking on your door, asking to have a couple cuttings. Thanks for taking that pic, it's worth at least a thousand words...
