Rehab
    #5407793 - 03/16/06 11:05 AM (17 years, 10 months ago)

So I went to see my substance abuse counselor (court ordered) and I told him I was going to test positive for THC, which I would have, unless I got extremely lucky considering how I smoked yesterday. I would have failed for coke too. Anyway he is recommending 6 weeks intensive inpatient care. If I don't I violate my probations ( 4 diff counties, 10 year max charges). Anyways, I guess it's best for me. I did chug a shitload of water but I figured, whats the use. Sometime in the next 7 trips I will fail, I can't go 7 weeks without weed. I was just curious if anyone knows/has been to rehab and what its like.

While facing 10 years in jail?

Dude, you're gonna fail life with an attitude like that.

Well said.  HighGuy, you're sniffing coke and smoking pot while facing serious charges?  That's just stupid....

I suppose that would indicate an addiction.

Pot is not physically addictive. You can argue that it is mentally addictive, but it's not like you suffer withdrawals if you cut yourself off for a bit.

49 days man...you can't go 49 days without getting high to spend the next 3,650 days free?

Save yourself from yourself, and enroll in the inpatient program.

You're your own worst enemy right now.

Sounds like you're going six weeks without it anyway.  You think you can bring your bong to inpatient treatment?

It's not so much weed as anything that fucks my mind out of reality.

Meh, reality isn't really reality to begin with, its just your brain trying to put the universe into something simple enough to cope with, getting out of reality does nothing but put you into another one, just as unreal as the one you are in as when you are "sober" But yeah, we live in a society built of the sober reality, so you gotta deal with it while you live here, no big deal. Put down the bong, pick up some good books, and eat plenty of fiber.

From what I hear of incarceration you ought to do anything rather than get locked up - because the lack of freedom can play with a person's head more than anything...

I don't have personal experience of rehab, but it has to be better than losing your freedom...

And as for the 'pot's not addictive, man' vibe going on - I feel whether it's actual medical addiction, or just your mind telling you your body needs it - it's just the same for the individual facing it... so go get help if you can't kick it...

a little story...
This reminded me of how we had a houseparty and my friend was turning down poppers all night because his company does drug tests but yet was smoking heaving on doobs all night long.  I thought that was so funny, because you're far more likely to get busted if you've had weed in your system, than having a little sniff of some poppers!

LOL - strange boy!

I would choose Jail. Then you at least know what day you are getting out... When I went to rehab, I they were going to keep me there for at least 56 days.... then 6 months in a halfway house....

but then again... 10 years???? Is that how long you are on probation??

I had a few felonies here in NY and I got off in three.
